    Wherever it will be posted, it will be a great read for the Gamedev.js Weekly newsletter for sure.
    Anyway, great job with the game demo, can't wait to learn what's cooking under the hood

    Ohayo!

    Description:
    Currently in my free time i'm working on crysis-like 2D shooter game prototype about aliens invasion (events between Crysis 2 and Crysis 3) and specialy trained humans in new version of nanosuit (less power of Prophet suit but more soldiers gets it). It will be multiplayer arena shooter, but for now i'm focusing on singleplayer training mission gameplay, and after i complete with fixing prototype with players feedback i'll start working on the core of the game which is multiplayer arena part.
    Game works smoothly on Google Chrome (game optimisation for Firefox is on future todo list) and was designed for gamepads (PlayStation and Xbox), but you can play with mouse and keyboard too. Right now aliens are very strong so gameplay is focused on tactics and hide&seek more than just running around and shooting everything you see ;P
    It runs on mobile too but there is no virtual controls (it's on future todo list) so don't ask me for it now

    Right now i'm asking you guys to tell me how does controls feels and how much time you had to play to destroy all 4 alien bases (big green dots on minimap, you can kill them only with 2 grenade shots per base :P).

    Play Online (please, use Chrome):
    http://soulhunter.psichix.io

    Tech used:
    - Oxygen Core (my html5 game engine toolset based on best Unity and Godot concepts mixed with latest best html5 apis);
    - ES7 with babel transpiler;
    - Webpack for game bundling and live development;
    I don't know what i should say more about techs, because everything that is there, it is those 3 things If you're interrested in something more about tech, and i will be happy to tell everything you ask
    ------
    BTW. I want to publish topic/article about game engine used here - which subforum should i use to place that kind of topic?

    end3r got a reaction from vornay in The future of HTML5 Games is...bitcoin mining?
    It wasn't Bitcoin, but another cryptocurrency - Monero. The Pirate Bay published a blog post about the experiment, but not many people saw it. The mining script did run in the background on the website and many people were surprised by that, even angry.
    In theory that's an interesting thing to consider and investigate in the future, but currently it's treated more like a scam than a viable option, at least that's what I'm seeing. It must be clearly visible, you should be able to turn it on/off and set how much CPU power it consumes, otherwise it will be treated worse than spam and will be blocked by adblockers, antiviruses etc.

    end3r reacted to OkijinGames in Lucky Miner - Playing with mining odds on the Bitcoin blockchain
    Hello,
    This one is not what I would call a "game" (unless you classify lotto-systems in that category), yet it is still 100% HTML5 canvas front end.
    I created Lucky Miner to iterate on the idea that there is a nonzero probability for any miner to confirm a block before anyone else does on the bitcoin blockchain with a potential to earn 12.5 BTC ($57328 @ 4586.31 Oct. 9, 2017). The app implements an experimental “lottery-like” system running miners on a full "bitcoin node" back-end. Whenever a block is confirmed, one participant address is randomly picked up to collect the reward.
    Here is the link:

    I intend to explore more deeply how Bitcoin and more generally cryptocurrencies can be used in the gaming industry - several other projects like this one in the pipeline.

    Yeah, right now it's more like crazy market with stock prices going up and down all the time rather than a stable currency with reasonable exchange rate, but there are already some interesting ways to use blockchain with cryptocurrencies, and the pioneers may (or may not) have an advantage in the future.

    Mission 13 - Lost in Space

    Check out our newest game, Mission 13! We spent the last few weeks developing it for the JS13K Games competition hosted by Andrzej Mazur at Enclave Games. As most of you probably know, the idea of this competition is to fit a whole game in a zip file less than 13kb. We managed this with our entry, and here is the end result!
    Also, feel free to plaster it across social media, trust me, we won't mind
    http://js13kgames.com/entries/mission-13-lost-in-space
    Some technical features of this game, for all you nerds out there include:
    Custome image generation. (For stars, planets, and asteroids) Audio synthesizer using JSFXR. Support for both mobile and desktop with fullscreen resizing capabilities. Random terrain generation. And most importantly, love.

    So, in the end I managed to participate this year, too!
    I just had like one week and I had to work during the night a little bit, but in the end I think that it was totally worth it!
    I'm quite satisfied with my "A Day In The Life"!
    Now,  I'm trying to find the time to play all the entries, at least 3-4 minutes each.
    It won't be easy since they are 150+ already, so it means like 8+ hours of playing ... but I do have time until the 20th of September!
    I already played a couple of quite interesting games though, with really lovely, lovely, ideas!
