  8. Hi everyone, I'm looking for an experienced construct 2 developer to design a serious game for intelligence analysts. The game is pretty complex and needs also some kind of mind mapping so I don't know if Construct 2 is the best choice, but I would like to have some insights from the construct 2 community. We need a developer that can work in team with us. The mind mapping tool is called inference scheme and is part of a serious game to be implemented for intelligence analysts . Briefly what they have to do is to connect informations with a sort of Arrow to indicate reliable information. By creating this mapping they will end up to a conclusion that will then be presented at the end of the game. The html5 application will retrieve data from a database. The game will aslo have media elements that will be displayed and that based on the user actions will fire new events. Waiting for some feedbacks Louis
  9. I am interested in connecting with companies and freelancers that are masters at cutting edge game designs that will be played in device agnostic, live consumer facing settings and that can deal with fast turn arounds, challenging timelines, unexpected client change requests and high levels of global exposure at large consumer events. Creativity and uniqueness are highly valued in this arena just as much as the ability to code what the client wants even when you don't agree with it. Rock solid, bullet proof code solutions are a must for all deliverables. This is "big-boy" stuff so please only serious, enterprise level experience. If you have a degree and no real experience, stick with it. This is a great business to be in but this post isn't for you. If you're a great coder but you still call mom's basement a command center... well... ok... you still could be my guy but the point is, we're looking for professionals here! Looking forward to it. Give me samples and lets talk. MK

"Be excellent to each other." - Lincoln 9/8/14 - Working on a huge update dump for this week. Will include info on new game modes, new main character design and level builder. Videos, gifs, and screenshots will be included. Stay tuned. Greetings. I am a lone developer working on my first game. I have a day job as a graphic designer, and spend another 60 hours a week on top of that building a weird shooter/rpg in Construct 2. I appreciate any feedback I can get on the concept and look, and find that critique can be helpful if I want to build a better game. If you want more info about the game and the upcoming demo release, I have an official thread on Scirra's Construct 2 forums: I am happy to answer questions about the game's development, art style and future. I would also appreciate hearing from those of you who have already successfully published your own games. What challenges did you face, and what are your success stories? Thank you for taking the time to look. I look forward to hearing your comments and critiques. -Joey

    Courier - RPG (First Trailer!)

Courier is a non-combat RPG where you play as a mail-carrier trying to unravel a plot to enslave the land of Veilend. Courier is placed in a fantasy setting, but you don't play as the sword-weilding hero out to save the world. You are a mail-carrier who stumbles into circumstances that set you off on a grand adventure. After a lot of data, metrics, and testing, Courier has moved to node-webkit to deliver a better experience for users. With that, I've pushed the game further graphically and have decided to release it as a completed game later instead of progressively. Click for full size By the way, you can play as either a male or a female. Click for full size After a brief introduction, you start the game with your first assignment of delivering a package to the mayor of a forest town, but the entrance to the town is blocked off by a mysterious rock slide soon after you arrive. Once it is cleared and you can get out to explore the rest of the world, you'll discover many similar events have happened all around. Bridges have been knocked out, town entrances have been blocked, lifts have been shut down, and travel routes have been disrupted. Someone or something wants to hold back communication throughout the Kingdom, and it can't be for a good reason. Uncovering these paths lets you gain access to more deliveries to build up your career, and open communication can slowly be restored. But there still must be a sinister plot underlying these events, and that is your task to uncover. Courier features a large world, nice visuals, and a fully interactive and high-quality soundtrack. It will release via Node-webkit on Windows, Mac, and Linux.
  13. Hi all! I'm trying to hide address bar on iOS 6.1.5 in a Scirra Construct 2 project. I know this is a trivial task, and I managed to do it with GameMaker, but for some reason I can't make it work here. Here's what I'm doing: On start of layout: Browser: Execute Javascript if (!document.getElementById('space')) { var space = document.createElement('div'); = '60px'; = 'both'; = 'space'; document.getElementsByTagName('body')[0].appendChild(space);}Browser: Execute Javascript if (window.location.hash.indexOf('#') == -1) { setTimeout(function() { window.scrollTo(0, 1); }, 0);}When the page loads for the first time, it works perfectly. However, after the page has been refreshed, what happens is that the address bar still hides, but the canvas doesn't take all available space, but there is a blank space at the bottom of 60px (the height of the bar, and the height of the div I add to the page to increment space). What am I doing wrong? Thank you in advance!

    [WIP] KittySling

Hi there! I'm making this game with a couple of friends in Construct 2. Basically you have to pull the cat and release it, so it flies around to get the bird, which takes you to the next level. You can gather stars on each level too, and use them later to buy outfits for your cat (but we still have to implement that). We want to release it for iOS first and see if we can make some money out of it so we can keep working on it, but we're really new at all this and could use some tips... I've been reading about game monetization but the more I read the more it confuses me haha! So any help is deeply appreciated. Currently we have no devlog or anything, but I usually tweet about it when I'm working on it at @andreyin. Might also update it here once in a while, when we've got a better prototype. Cheers!
  15. Hey guys, so I have finally started to work on my "awesome" game and i'm building it with construct 2. I eventually want to try and sell games I make to portals, however I came across this link its a list of a bunch of games created with construct 2. There are a bunch of really amazing ones. The thing is when i tried to load to them on my ipad 2 or or iphone (ios 7) the sound wasnt working on any of the games or the game just crashed. However when I tried out the games on the iPad2 using the chrome browser some worked with the sound, some worked with out sounds and some just kept crashing the browser. SOOOO I have 2 questions 1) how do portals feel about buying games that don't come with sound or sound doesnt work. 2) has anyone managed to sell Construct 2 made games to portals with sound working or with out sound working. I feel like not having the sound work really diminishes the experience and you would not get as much money for the game that you create. Anyways thanks for any insight on the matter.
  16. I'd like to know if someone knows how well each of them is working on mobiles. I have some experience using Construct 2 and I find it really, really nice for development. Until now, I was not very involved in using html5 on mobiles/tablets and recently I just made a few tests with Construct2 on a few devices. I found it quite slow for just moving a few sprites on the screen. I'm just curious if someone can tell if this should be the expected behavior on mobiles for html5 or just construct2 is a little bit slow? Did anyone test both Game Maker and Construct 2 to make a comparison from the performance point of view on mobiles?

  18. I'm having an issue with a game I have built using Construct 2 when placed into an Adobe DPS folio file. The game itself functions perfectly, the issue is the app's built in navigation is activated every time a user interacts with the piece (touch). I was told by an Adobe rep that this could avoided... According to one of our developers, when you display HTML content in DPS, the viewer looks for elements with handlers such as onclick and ontouchstart or an event listener such as addEventListener. If any of these elements are present, tapping the item should not display the nav bars. If you dynamitcally set the element.ontouchstart function after the content has loaded, the nav bars will appear when the item is tapped. To suppress the nav bars, one approach is to change the function that applies the handler functions to use addEventListener. Seeing as I am not a coder, I could really use some help. I can supply the raw files if that would help. Thanks!
  19. I was wondering how many of you guys or gals here are using construct 2. If not why not. If you guys can share your opinion on the game maker that would be great. I my self already have it. But I wanted a perspective from people that actually write out your code for your games and why you would or wouldn't want to use Construct 2.
