  3. Particle emitter never turns on?

    Hi, everyone. I've not been able to find any similar issues to mine, so I'm posting a new topic asking for help. I'm using Phaser 2.6.2 to develop a multiplayer web game. I want a particle emitter to start at the location of the player when a button is pressed, in an explosion. In create(), I have the following code: this.emitter = game.add.emitter(0, 0, 8); this.emitter.makeParticles('seeds'); this.emitter.gravity = 500; I ask the emitter to start later in a custom function called dump(), passing in the player's coordinates. Dump() is called by a function when the variable appleEaten is true and the player is on the right part of the screen. dump: function (x, y) { appleEaten = false; this.emitter.x = x; this.emitter.y = y; console.log(this.emitter.maxParticles); this.emitter.start(true, 1000, null, 8, 8); console.log(this.emitter.x + ", " + this.emitter.y + " is the emitter."); console.log(this.emitter.on); // this is returning false? The program correctly knows how many particles it should spew (8). The emitter is at the correct coordinates based on another console log. However, this.emitter.on console log always returns false. I have the same console log line running in update, and of course it's false every time there, too. Basically, the emitter just doesn't turn on, and I don't know why. I am not getting any errors in the console, either. Has anyone run into this, and/or does anyone have a suggestion on how to approach this? Thank you! EDIT: I load 'seeds' in another state, as with all of my images. When I try to add 'seeds' as an image in create, nothing shows up, and again, no error. I imagine these are separate issues, but I could be wrong.

  7. Spawning enemies at random period

    Third time from me today :D, So I want to spawn these customers at random millisecs every loop... The problem is that when the first number is generated it uses it(this specific number) for every loop after that? Any ideas? this is how I'm trying to do it, but I guess there is a better solution... I can't create a variable, since the same thing is going to happen: game.time.events.loop(Math.floor((Math.random() * 10)*1000), this.createCustomer, this);

  10. Hey everyone! This is a video of a prototype for my first HTML5 game Bunny Hop made using Construct 3. I wanted to keep my first HTML5 game small and simple plus this is my first time really making a game in Construct 3. I don't think any sponsors/portals would be interested in this game for it being so small lol, but I like to start on small projects when I am testing out engines I am new to.   14. map.createLayer returning undefined

    I am working on a basic platforming game and I had a demo working based on the Phaser platformer example on http://phaser.io/ and it works, until I pasted the code into a game state. Now that the game is in a state, it can't find the layer given in the JSON file. It returns "layer is undefined" when I try to use layer.resizeWorld();. Here is the level JSON file and here is the code for the actual game file.

    Hi, I just completed my first Phaser.js game and I am incredibly happy with it! Here is the link: roboticdog Feed back is welcome. I have two issues with it though. One is it is verrrry slow on mobile phones... tablets and desktops are OK. The other is when my red enemies go from a friendly state to a damaging state AND the player is in the body bounding zone, he gets wiped out instantly. I tried the debug and it doesn't register a touching instance? Another small issue is I can't upgrade from Phaser.js to Phaser.min.js, I get the following error: TypeError: a.align is undefined[Learn More] phaser.min.js:3:443916 Other than that.... here's a pic

    Hello, We are developing an HTML game using the Phaser framework with Javascript. We have run into some issues regarding the mobile usability for Safari on iPhones. At certain times the player's address bar appears, when this happens the game is moved down. Since the game is moved down, we lose access to part of the game. That leads me to our two questions: 1) How can we detect a swipe motion and then use that motion to hide the address bar? 2) How can we detect that the player address bar is open in the the first place?

    I'm happy to present to you Phaser Quest, a top-down real-time multiplayer adventure made with Phaser and Socket.io. Explore the map, find better equipment, fight monsters and defeat the final boss, alone or with friends! It was for me a practice project, and is a reproduction of Mozilla's Browserquest. Hopefully the source code will interest you, as the project integrates of a lot of Phaser features together (such as tiled maps, text input, tweens, animations, sound, click handling, camera management, etc.), as well as pathfinding using Easystar.js. It is also an example of how a Phaser client can be made to interact with a Node.js server using Socket.io. On my website, I have written a few articles about some aspects of the game. They are mostly concerned with networking for the moment. If you'd like me to write an article explaining how I accomplished this or that in the development of this game, feel free to ask, I'm always happy to help.
