  2. Hi All! I'm a single indie game developer who has released games on steam, android, itch.io, gamejolt and kongregate etc. Though I felt like I hit a problem when it came to monetizing web games. I found with mobile games, advertising was the best way to earn. So of coarse earning from ad's with your small HTML5 games should be the best way to earn from web games but sites like kongregate only give you on average 25% of ad earnings. While even though I personally love Itch.io for selling games, you can only earn from donations when it comes to web games. Leaving you with the only option of hosting the games yourself, which means you are alone in driving traffic to your games. So I set out to not only design a platform that allows developers to earn from ad's (adf.ly ad's). So I set out to not only design a platform that allows developers to earn from ad's (ads from our own advertising network serving exciting gaming adverts players will want to see). A platform which is easy to use, quick to sign up and allows you to instantly publish your games online. A platform which is 100% mobile friendly allowing players to play your games on far more devices. Best of all, you will earn 100% from your game's players. https://play.idevgames.co.uk The play arcade is completely free and allows you to get your game online and start earning within minutes. It is the simplest and quickest way to start earning from your games with ad's. No need for API's, it's all built into the site. Also I want to make the point that I do not earn anything from the site currently, I built the platform originally for my own game's and because this was something that I wanted from a web based platform. I will also never charge for this service or forcefully take a percentage of your ad earnings in the future. The site is still being developed but is fully functional with some pretty cool features too, like: Embed your games easily on any site and still earn from every player Allow your players to give you donations through paypal Allow your players to subscribe to your patreon Turn off ad's at any time and turn them on again... Even choose the frequency your ad is displayed People can review your games Publish your games to the site instantly Keep your game private when testing The site is growing everyday and I hope you decide to take a look. Thanks, -iDev

  4. Computer graphics, animations, games and interactions are now self-evident. You just have to pick up your smartphone, tablet, desktop computer or what else and you feel intuitively when you have to swipe, click, drag or pinch zoom. You also expect nothing less than nice interfaces with smooth animations. But it wasn't always like this... There were times where there were no editors like Photo and Designer, nor Illustrator, nor Photoshop, and even computers, games and animations of frames didn't exist... I wrote a blog series of six where I like to take you on a journey through time with our focus on learning about the development before and during the creation of computers, digital graphics, animations, games, graphical interfaces, graphics software, interactivity, 3D, a pinch of the first games, the creation of the internet and a touch of virtual reality. I have made more than 110 illustrations for this series and also provide each part with at least one interactive to bring the events alive as good as possible for you. Part 1 is out there now! Hope you like it and I'm sure you learn something new from it and be surprised by some events! There will be a new part every month from now. Enjoy! Browser support for Phaser

Hello, Please can someone tell me whether Phaser games will work well in IE9? As phaser uses webGL, I assumed it won't work in IE9 as webGL is not supported by IE9. But still I was able to open a few of the phaser games in IE9. I just want to get an overall analysis of browsers supporting phaser games.

JS is the best for me?

Well... I want to learn how to make games, for PC, browser or mobile. I started to learn logic then I passed to HTML and CSS, I learned the basics of those two then I started to see the basic of JS. I did a break for a few months to focus on school, but now I'll return my programming studies. And I heard that C# is the best choice for gamedev using the Unity Engine. So, I want to know what is the best choice, stay learning JS or start to learn C#?
  12. Well, I´m a noob creating games and stuff but currently I'm developing a 2D game. I've designed my principal character but the original images of it are quite big and I need to change its size to add the character to the game. The original images are like 560px x 400px and I need to reduce it to 27px x 20px. How can I do that? I tried this but its useless var character create function() { character = game.add.sprite(100, 150, "main"); character.anchor.setTo(0.5); character.style.width = "27px"; character.style.height = "20px"; I´ll be really grateful if you could help me. 🙌

    Online Solitaire Game

Hi Everyone! Today, I present my new online game: Online Solitaire (https://onlinesolitaire.games) Daily mode (Every day new level); 4 Game Mode for 100% solvable levels (1 Card/3 Cards, Normal/Vegas, more 6000 levels); Random Mode (Generate random deck, can be not solvable); Solitaire Solver (If you do not complete level, you can use solver to check solution); Undo; Facebook connect; Top score for daily mode; Backup (restore game if you close browser); Magic button (help); Restore progress system (if you logined, you can restore progress on other devices and browsers). It is the third game for Cool.Logic project (previous games: Online Mahjong, Online Sudoku) and the most hard game for me from this serie. I made easy level generator, but not all levels was solvable.I made solver, it checks levels for solutions. But some levels has several solutions and solver spend a lot of time to find all of them. I optimized solver for only one solutions and find solution no more 30 sec for random level. My solver can generate around 1000 levels per night. (I generated levels at night 😊) It was interest project for me. Play and leave your feedback. Mobile Versions:

    Game list of phaser games

Edit by Rich (September 2016): Back in 2013 Mike created a web site (below) that allowed Phaser devs to list the games they'd made. You'll find over 400 games created with some of the earliest versions of Phaser. Lots of the links don't work any more, but some do, and it's a really interesting archive. It's not worth submitting your games to the list any longer, however I'm keeping it, and this thread, because people still post new games to this thread even today. If you do this, it's highly likely I'll see it, and add it to the Phaser web site. Mike's original message follows: ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- What I did started from personal need, but decided to share it and maybe improve it if it went bigger. Well since the engine is still new but there is quite a moving and I check every topic, and game that is made I have a phaser game list: http://pgl.ilinov.eu/

  19. Hi, We are developing a platform to teach children a foreign language using animation, activities and games. Our first MVP was built using Unity WebGL for the games and now we're looking to go the HTML5+js route. The first set of games have been pretty simple - ranging from simple interactive click/audio to learn words to tracing an outline to form letters. Now we need to take things up a notch as we move onto Level 2 and above. The intention is to have a gaming element that goes with each of the animations/videos we producing, which is about 50 per level. Obviously many of the game (mechanics) will be scripted and re-used with different assets (which we will be creating as part of the animation process). What we're looking for is a developer to work with us initially here in Dubai for a month or so to help develop a framework for out games going forward (scoring, rewards, libs, etc), convert the Unity games to native and plan/start the next set of games going forwards. Then remote working after that would be a viable option. We're not extremely opinionated on which platform, but we're been impressed with PIXI and Phaser so far - everything is 2D today but that's not to say we won't be introducing 3D in the future, along with AR content for things like card games etc. Please PM if you would be interested Thanks Davie

  22. Hi all, I'd like to upload my game Instant Games, however I've been having a hard time applying Facebook's code to Phaser; I end up with a black every time. Let's say I have the following code: var game = new Phaser.Game(500, 500, Phaser.AUTO, null, {preload: preload, create: create, update: update}); var sprite; function preload(){ game.scale.scaleMode = Phaser.ScaleManager.SHOW_ALL; game.load.image('sprite', 'img/character.png'); } function create(){ game.add.sprite(0,0,'sprite'); } function update(){ } How should I modify it to make it compatible with Instant Games? I'd really appreciate it if anyone can help me with this as I'm new to Phaser.

    Mr. Balling

Hi Everyone, I just released a game made with Phaser 2 called Mr. Balling. Used cordova to deploy it to Android and iOS. It is a simple arcade game that is supposed to be a throwback/retro arcade game. You bounce around on the screen and when you hit a ball you orbit it, once you tap on the screen you fly off. The objective is to stay alive in the middle of the screen bouncing from ball to ball, while avoiding red balls and the left and right sides of the screen. Feel free to leave feedback or thoughts about the game, I'm new to game development, but hope to keep doing it. Apple iOS App Store: https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/mr-balling/id1351628591?ls=1&mt=8 Android Google Play Store: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.ogradybj.mrballing More info on the game. I came up with this idea about 10 years ago and had actually made working copies in python a few times, using pygame and kivy, but once I got into phaser I fell in love, it was super easy to get stuff working right away. As mentioned I packaged it up with cordova. I'm a Mechanical Engineer, not a software engineer, so sites like this were instrumental in figuring out how to get phaser to do what I wanted it to do. I used Piskelapp to do all of the assets. I used beepbox to make the music. It was fun having do figure out everything that goes into releasing something like this. Obviously as you can see it is a pretty simple premise for a game. However, I plan to make a sequel extending the game mechanic more. Also tried to make a pseudo dev-log, still under construction, but you can find more info at www.mrballing.com Screenshots of the game, title screen and several screenshots during the game as well as gameover screen. I did high score tracking using firebase.
