  2. Hey, I'm currently rebuilding some old arcade games in phaser and I'm planning to build a cool old arcade cabinet that is essentially a custom PC with the monitor built in and some usb supported arcade controllers. I'm not sure if this is the right place to ask this kind of question but I was wondering if phaser or JS web based games in general would run well on a Linux OS or a rasberry pi? I'm mainly asking because I'd like to make a few of them so I don't really want to spend heaps of money on custom PC parts and something like a rasberry Pi is pretty cheap so I could replicate it rather cheaply. Any information would be helpful. Thanks! Dan.
  3. Hi there, I would like to develop a 2D game using my laptop under linux, and phaser. In order to design the map I think I will use Tiled, but what about the sprites, heroes, etc? I saw that Inkscape was a good software fot his, but I'm more used to GIMP, would it be a good way to draw characters, trees, etc? Or is there other goods, open-source softwares? And I would like to make my game open-source, where could I see which licenses I can use?
  4. Hi guys I am new here and so far i was using GUI game engines to create games. From all back-end testings so far that i done on various programming languages and scripting languages i realised that html5 is best solution for my game development. Now i decided to ditch game engines and learn actual coding in some of the frameworks so my code could be much more cleaner, run faster, have better optimization and quality of the games would overall be better. But this is not just for games, but also for personal reasons because i like to be properly educated instead of using most convenient tools. Now i am interested in learning some js framework that has good community support and tutorials, that is easy and fast on learning and performance and if possible to implement in Ubuntu SDK. Also i am mainly using GNU/linux and one of the reasons why i would like to use js is to be mobile and OS independent.but from all OS so far Ubuntu SDK seems like a decent solution for cordova runtime,i tried to use it with phaser but i did not succeed to render cordova runtime instead it was in plain web view. Now overall it does not have to be Ubuntu SDK,but i am interested in HTML5 framework that i can port(wrap) to desktop mainly(mobile would be good to). Any ideas what's the best and why, please write down below,it would help me a lot. Regards

  8. Hi everyone, I'm from Belgium and making games in my free time(with a full time job and 2 kids). This is one of the first official game I made. It's available on android/PC/Mac(links below). It's totally free and will be updated with new "servers". In short, you work for The Agency and they provided you with a hacking device, you must learn to use it (user manual included) and connect to servers to discover the truth behind the disappearance of scientists from a powerful organization. The game is easy to pick up but decoding all messages will take time. There are achievements and leaderboards on Google play games services. This game has been made mainly with construct 2 and cocoonjs. If you have any question about the development, I'm available. Please enjoy and send me your feedback. Fabrice from Studio Nonante. Welcome to the Agency, You have been chosen to be a part of one of our most important investigation. Several scientists at Venntech disappeared these past few weeks, they were working on top-secret experiments and we don't know what happened to them or what they were working on. For this purpose, we've sent you a brand new hacking device: the SD90. Use it to decode messages they were exchanging before they vanished. As this task is crucial for the Agency, you and other agents will be competiting for the position of worldwide best agent. Good luck! - Innovative MATH PUZZLE, very ADDICTIVE with a lot of replay value. - DECODE the messages and discover the MYSTERIES around the Venntech company and its borderline scientific experiments. - The SD90 is a brand new DEVICE in your hands, complete with his user's manual. Learn to use it and to master it! - Decode messages by using operators on DECIMAL and HEXADECIMAL numbers. Hexadecimal numbers is an exclusivity in the world of mathematical games on mobile, this game will allow you to think differently and to learn how to do calculations more easily in that numeric system. - Worldwide LEADERBOARDS and ACHIEVEMENTS with the Google Play Games service. - MORE servers will be available soon. The perfect game for brainiacs, easy to play but still a great challenge. 10. Hey guys New to phaser and this forum, and Ive now run into my first issue! Tonight I've been working though the typescript 'getting started' page, setting up my phaser game-dev environment on Ubuntu 13.04. I have apache2, php and mysql working, with the default test page in /var/www running fine (basically have LAMP setup and running). I'm stuck however, trying to run the hellophaser demo. The canvas comes up as completely black, no logo or anything. Not sure whats gone wrong... Heres how it looks: If anyone has any suggestions, that would be great. I'll keep working at it, to see if I can find a solution. Also, absolutely loving Sublime2, today was my first time using it and I cant see myself going back to the text editors IDEs I have been using (unless I really have to for some feature or IDE that is). The mini-code scrollbar is amazing, as someone whos always getting lost in large scripts. -Alex
