  9. Audio loop duplicating - Bug?

Hi there, I've stumbled across some very weird audio behavior and can't seem to avoid it. I'm trying to loop a marker of my audio file, which works well on itself. Whenever pausing and resuming the audio loop at least once however, as soon as the next loop point is reached it will not stop the currently running audio and play from the marker but just add a new layer of audio that plays from the marker instead, while the old one just continues to play. And it keeps doing that for every loop. //Create { this.sfx_music = this.sound.add("key); this.sfx_music.allowMultiple = false; this.sfx_music.addMarker('turbo', 116.8696, 7.3846, 1, true); this.sfx_music.play('turbo'); } unpauseGame: function() { if(this.game.paused) { this.game.paused = false; this.sfx_music.resume(); } }, pauseGame: function() { this.sfx_music.pause(); this.game.paused = true; } Pausing the game without pausing the music doesn't cause this problem, but It's mandatory for me to pause the music when pausing the game.. Could this be a bug in sound.pause() or sound.resume()? I'm using Chrome but I have the same behavior in firefox as well. Please help! Best Zampano
  10. Why doesn't music pause properly?

When my game in the browser loses focus, everything pauses: animations pause, music stops playing. HOWEVER, when I go back to the browser, the animations continue from where they left off, but the music behaves differently -- the music resumes at a point as if it had been playing in the background and time had elapsed. So then, my animations and music are out of sync. What is the simplest way of making animations and music behave similarly?

  16. Hello everyone! My name is Bryan Davis and I have a love for good games and great music! I work full time as a game composer, and love every minute of it. Music is something special, something magical. Whether we realize it or not, music has a huge impact on our attitudes and emotions. When someone is angry, often times they will listen to music that drives their anger even further. When at peace, many people will turn to soft strings or pianos to drift further into their blissful state. Sometimes, when people are having a bad day, they turn to uplifting and inspiring music to try and bring themselves out of the mire they’ve found themselves in. Our attitudes dictate the music we listen to and, in turn, the music we listen to dictates our emotions. Emotions, that is the role of music in video games. To create an emotional landscape for the player to dive into. As a composer, it is my job to create that atmosphere. To use my powers of audio manipulation to control the very emotions of every soul that plays your game (I feel so powerful!). Music is my passion, it’s what drives me as I journey through life. Here on this thread I'd like to share some of my music. I do hope you enjoy listening to it as much as I enjoyed writing it. If you’d like to enlist my musical powers for your worthy cause (Gaming is a very worthy cause!), simply send me a message and tell me about your project. Most of my work is orchestral, but I do have a few chiptunes in my portfolio. If you don't hear what you're looking for, message me anyway. I love trying out new styles and am always looking for a new challenge to tackle! My rates vary depending on the project, but will usually fit any budget. So let's join forces, and together we shall conquer the world! Or…well…at least a small corner of the gaming world. Yes, that, we shall conquer! Portfolio

  22. Hi there! Lawrence Steele here and I run Satsuma Audio, a provider of high quality music and sound effects for video games. I have no particular sentimental affinity for the satsuma, just thought it was a catchy name I am an experienced composer and sound designer, and have created audio for 45+ titles in a wide variety of styles. I've been into computer games and music pretty much my entire life so to combine the two to make a living is pretty damn awesome. I am extremely passionate about my work and strive to create something outstanding for every project I work on. (I'm also not good at starting sentences that don't begin with "I" ...) Some of my recent projects include: * Tabletop Simulator - Popular physics based board game engine. * WarBits - Highly polished turn based strategy on iOS * Asgard Run - Viking themed 3D endless runner on mobile. * Crazy Seahorses - Zany mobile sidescroller. You can check out more about me and my work on my website http://satsu.ma, alternatively read on... One thing I love about writing music for games is you never know what style you will end up writing in next. Over the years I have composed everything from orchestral to chiptunes, gangsta beats, spooky jazz, happy puzzle themes, fast-paced bluegrass and of course... dubstep! For a wider selection of my work you can check out the audio page of my website. Or also the super awesome video show reel that should be located directly underneath this sentence. (Image links to YouTube video) I was first drawn to game audio by my love of writing music but soon discovered the wonders of sound design and now find it just as enjoyable and creatively rewarding as music composition. I've created SFX for a whole bunch of different games, most notable would be browser based MMORPG SideQuest which saw me create many hundreds of sounds for monsters, spells, skills etc. Another recent SFX project is iOS turn based strategy title WarBits for which I created a nice mix of retro interface sounds and big explosions! (WarBits trailer here) I also have experience and knowledge of the latest in game audio software packages and middleware, including Unity, FMOD and WWise. Now that FMOD, WWise and Fabric are all free to use for indies, if anyone's working on a project which could be enhanced by one of these programs, let me know, I would love to be involved! Here's the SFX showreel video... (Image links to YouTube video) When it comes to pricing I try and be as flexible and affordable as possible. My rates are 'indie-friendly' and I am always open for negotiation and willing to adjust to suit budgets of varying sizes. I always consider revenue share options and other payment methods too if the project seems like it will be especially fun or creatively rewarding to work on. So if you have any sound or music needs for your projects please get in touch, no job too big or small! You can reach me at: lawrence@satsu.ma @SatsumaAudio Or check out more about me and my work on my site http://satsu.ma TL;DR - I make sounds, maybe I make sounds for you?
