I am trying to add music to the game when the start button is pressed and then sound effects every time a brick is destroyed. Unfortunately Phaser keeps saying Key "Sample" is not found in cache. Thanks in Advance Pheaset here is my code var game = new Phaser.Game(480, 320, Phaser.AUTO, null, { preload: preload, create: create, update: update }); var firework;; var music = Phaser.Sound; var lives = 1; var livesText; var lifeLostText; var ball; var paddle; var bricks; var newBrick; var brickInfo; var scoreText; var score = 0; var playing = false; var startButton; function preload() { game.scale.scaleMode = Phaser.ScaleManager.SHOW_ALL; game.scale.pageAlignHorizontally = true; game.scale.pageAlignVertically = true; game.stage.backgroundColor = '#eee'; game.load.image('ball', 'ball.png'); game.load.image('paddle','paddle.png'); game.load.image('brick', 'img/brick.png') game.load.spritesheet('ball', 'img/wobble.png', 20, 20); game.load.spritesheet('button','button.png', 120, 40); game.load.audio('Good-Riddance', 'Good-Riddance.mp3'); } function create() { game.physics.startSystem(Phaser.Physics.ARCADE); startButton = game.add.button(game.world.width*0.5, game.world.height*0.5, 'button', startGame, this, 1, 0, 2); startButton.anchor.set(0.5); music = game.add.audio('Good-Riddance') this.music = this.add.audio("Good-Riddance") this.game.sound.setDecodedCallback(["Good-Riddance"]); if(playing === true) { music.play() }else{ music.mute = false; }

  13. Hi there! Lawrence Steele here and I run Satsuma Audio, a provider of high quality music and sound effects for video games. I have no particular sentimental affinity for the satsuma, just thought it was a catchy name I am an experienced composer and sound designer, and have created audio for 45+ titles in a wide variety of styles. I've been into computer games and music pretty much my entire life so to combine the two to make a living is pretty damn awesome. I am extremely passionate about my work and strive to create something outstanding for every project I work on. (I'm also not good at starting sentences that don't begin with "I" ...) Some of my recent projects include: * Tabletop Simulator - Popular physics based board game engine. * WarBits - Highly polished turn based strategy on iOS * Asgard Run - Viking themed 3D endless runner on mobile. * Crazy Seahorses - Zany mobile sidescroller. You can check out more about me and my work on my website http://satsu.ma, alternatively read on... One thing I love about writing music for games is you never know what style you will end up writing in next. Over the years I have composed everything from orchestral to chiptunes, gangsta beats, spooky jazz, happy puzzle themes, fast-paced bluegrass and of course... dubstep! For a wider selection of my work you can check out the audio page of my website. Or also the super awesome video show reel that should be located directly underneath this sentence. (Image links to YouTube video) I was first drawn to game audio by my love of writing music but soon discovered the wonders of sound design and now find it just as enjoyable and creatively rewarding as music composition. I've created SFX for a whole bunch of different games, most notable would be browser based MMORPG SideQuest which saw me create many hundreds of sounds for monsters, spells, skills etc. Another recent SFX project is iOS turn based strategy title WarBits for which I created a nice mix of retro interface sounds and big explosions! (WarBits trailer here) I also have experience and knowledge of the latest in game audio software packages and middleware, including Unity, FMOD and WWise. Now that FMOD, WWise and Fabric are all free to use for indies, if anyone's working on a project which could be enhanced by one of these programs, let me know, I would love to be involved! Here's the SFX showreel video... (Image links to YouTube video) When it comes to pricing I try and be as flexible and affordable as possible. My rates are 'indie-friendly' and I am always open for negotiation and willing to adjust to suit budgets of varying sizes. I always consider revenue share options and other payment methods too if the project seems like it will be especially fun or creatively rewarding to work on. So if you have any sound or music needs for your projects please get in touch, no job too big or small! You can reach me at: lawrence@satsu.ma @SatsumaAudio Or check out more about me and my work on my site http://satsu.ma TL;DR - I make sounds, maybe I make sounds for you?
  14. Hi there, my name is Juhani Junkala. I'm a 33 year old musician from Finland. I have over 20 years of experience as a composer and electronic music producer. I also have a master's degree as a classical composer from Sibelius Academy, Helsinki (ranked top 7th music university in the world, 2016). You probably won't find anyone else here with such a high degree of education in music, the years of experience or the inborn talent that I have. The amount of hours I've put into attaining my current skill set is INSANE and all that experience is available for you. I have written music in all genres: everything electronic ranging from dubstep to ambient and everything in between. I can do all the usual game music genres, JRPG stuff and retro game music. I've also had the opportunity to write symphonic works that have been performed by orchestras. Don't be afraid to ask for obscure or experimental genres. I can do sound effects in modern and retro styles and I can handle audio middlewares like Wwise or FMOD Studio. I'm currently working full time as a freelance composer and sound designer so I can put in 8-10 hours of work per day if you're in a hurry. I'm good with deadlines. I can do both licensing and buyout deals and I can help you to understand the details in the contracts. I'm also a producer in a hobbyist game development team. I've got lots of very happy clients from my previous game projects. Check out my game audio portfolio: The first entry Skilly Shooterstars has over 92 000 downloads. It was featured by Apple on the front page of iTunes App Store. Contact: juhani.junkala@musician.org Homepage: juhanijunkala.com/

  21. Hi guys, I was looking for free assets for my games so I made a list with all the websites I found. you can see the list here: http://goo.gl/0asR23
  22. Hi all, I wonder whether it would be possible to load an asset dynamically at a given time in Phaser rather than loading everything in the preload function. The reason for this is simple: I have a game with three different levels, all of which have different background songs; and so I'd rather only load a single song at startup to reduce loading times. Right now, my preload function looks like this: preload: function(){ game.load.audio('pixel_world', ['assets/music/pixel_world_lo.ogg', 'assets/music/pixel_world_lo.mp3']); game.load.audio('second_source', ['assets/music/second_source_lo.ogg', 'assets/music/second_source_lo.mp3']); game.load.audio('reboot_complete', ['assets/music/reboot_complete_lo.ogg', 'assets/music/reboot_complete_lo.mp3']); game.load.image('pickup', 'assets/img/pickup.png');}I tried moving one of the game.load.audio() calls to the create function instead: create: function(){ game.load.audio('pixel_world', ['assets/music/pixel_world_lo.ogg', 'assets/music/pixel_world_lo.mp3']); // good things follow...}However, the following calls fail: this.cache.isSoundDecoded(level.song)// Phaser.Cache.isSoundDecoded: Key "pixel_world" not found in Cache.song = game.add.audio(level.song);// Phaser.Cache.getSound: Key "pixel_world" not found in Cache.Do you know how I can get this to work, or any other way to ensure that the three songs are not loaded at game startup? Thank you!
