Hi everyone. I'm Zeke from Malaysia and I've teaching game development at the Asia Pacific University the past 5 years.

I'm thinking of starting a series of HTML5 game tutorials for beginners by deconstructing retro/2d games. It would be a sort of break down analysis of what makes a game fun (talking about game design & mechanics) and how to build a similar game while adding in new ideas.

The purpose is to demonstrate how to take the ideas you have in your mind, flesh out the details then turn it into a full game.

I'm curious to know if this is something you would be interested in? If yes, what sort of games would you like to learn how to make? Here's my starting list of games.

  • Pong
  • Breakout
  • Space invaders
  • Doodle jump
  • Asteroids
Also, what format works best for you, text with images or video?

Thanks =)
