Hi everybody,

 

i would like to share my current project with you

 

It's called Blobby Online (BO) and is a realtime online multiplayer action game, focussing on quick and fun 1on1 matches!

 

Some of you probably may know the good old Blobby Volley, on which BO is based.

I extended it's original (and almost 15 years old) gameplay by 

- advanced physics

- the ability to jump over the net

- extra items like in Mario Kart

Here are some screenshots and key features:

 

- Always playing against a human opponent - either via the matchmaking system or against specific other users in private games

- Blobby TV - Watch the games of other players live, learn from them and chat with other spectators

- Personal player profile with detailed statistics

- Customize your own blobby

- Community: Private messaging, friend list, forums, chat

- Every second day is a tournament day: Here you can compete in up to three knockout tournaments (5pm, 7pm und 9pm UTC) with up to 16 players and fight for the trophies

- Collect stars, diamonds & tournament points and move up in various rankings (global, season, tournament)

 

 

 

 

 

Some technical infos:

 

- Website Backend: Ruby on Rails

- The game is rendered with Phaser

- Game server: NodeJS, Box2D for the physics

- Client-Server communication: Socket.io 

 

 

I would love you to give it a try and tell me what you think about it - any feedback is good feedback!! 

 

And sorry in advance for possible lags - my server is in germany, so if you are connecting from the US for example you might experience some laggy movements
