I think the animation and game flow needs improvements and polishing. If the player matches something the "remove" sequence should be shorter.

Also try to make it feel mor fluid. For example, don't remove the monsters all at the same time but with a little delay each from left to right. And use also a similiar effect when the other monsters fall down. Start on after another with a very small and subtle delay and try to accelerate them as they falling.

I think it's very important in a match three to make the matches the player achieves feels very rewarding.

I agree with much of what Jochen said and want to add one extra thing which would really improve the user experience:

  • Don't use the same color for different smileys! I should be able to see which ones match purely by the color alone without having identify to faces too.
