shadowTexture.context.fillRect() not filling the colour for tiles

Hi, 

I am fairy new to Phaser. I am using this.shadowTexture.context.fillRect() to fill my background with black colour. I want everything on the map to be only available when there is torch light overlapping it. But, for some reason, my tiles are visible even though I filled the background with black colour. Help would be appreciated. I want to hide my tiles too!
