Lighting a Room

Hi all,

I have a (supposedly) simple task of lighting a regular square bedroom with furniture. Turns out it's quite complicated to do well.

So far I have been playing around with point lights and hemispheric lights (changing location, intensity, color etc) but it's pretty hard to get a "real" feel.

Anyone have any recommendations?

If you want realistic lighting, you will have no other choices than baking lightmaps using a raytracing engine (e.g. Cycles on Blender, VRay on 3dsmax, or other decades of Render engine).
