Introduction and HTML5 game developing & timeline

Hi everyone!

My name is David and I am new to HTML5 game development but not to the programming scene. In total I have over 15 years of programming under my belt, mostly full stack web development. Looking at the options in game development, they are extensive. And i wonder what the best choice is to build a very simplistic game with self designed characters that are being controlled by keyboard input and recorded in a timeline for future adjusting. Or characters / objects being controlled by a script/timeline.

By timeline, i mean something like Adobe Premier.
