Game width cropped in mobile device

So I've made my first little game with phaser 3.

It works fine and when played on my computer I see the full game area (1024*576), but when I look at it on an iPad/safari or my cell phone (samsung internet) the width is cropped. I get around 1000 pixels width and then just an empty area.

What am I missing?

Try adding 

<meta name="viewport" content="width=1024, initial-scale=1">
