WiMi5: a new platform for create, publish and monetise HTML5 games

Recommended Posts

Hi,

we are launching a new free platform that could be very interesting for casual game developers. We also offer 10.000 guaranteed players for games created and published with WiMi5 if your game meets a minimum of quality.

WiMi5 is the first video game development platform that lets you create, publish and monetise custom games in HTML5 without the need for programming.

What makes WiMi5 unique among platforms is its drag-and-drop game editor that lets both beginner and advanced game developers create casual games, in less time, and with no programming necessary. Via one-click publishing, developers can also share their game across multiple platforms, and across any device. Our Free-to-Play business model also offers an opportunity to monetize games by offering virtual goods and incentives. It is targeted at independent video game studios, those learning how to make casual games, and digital marketers.

@hafo

We can publish to IOS, Android, Chrome OS and Firefox in just one click ? Meaning I dont need a Mac to publish to IOS if I'm using WiMi5 ?

Currently you can download your game as a .zip file and use any wrapper (CocoonJS, Crosswalk or Cordoba) to create an iOS/Android app. We are working now on a feature that allows you to directly download the .apk from our publishing options.

Have a look at these tutorials, please:

very interesting any tutorials  ebooks

does it really have a market

You have tutorials here:

http://wimi5.com/help-tutorials/

You also have a lot of videotutorials in this YouTube Channel (highly recommendable)

You can also view the Forums, where we offer support to anyone

Regarding the market, there is a lot of information about the opportunities for HTML5 game developers. Just as an example you can check out this article by WiMi5 CEO http://gamesauce.org/news/2014/08/11/the-new-game-developer-challenge-designing-for-the-next-4-billion-internet-consumers/

Hi Gods,

yes, you can download your project. We have written a tutorial explaining how to do it.

You can edit your project after downloading it, you have all the code (HTML, CSS and Javascript). But some parts of the code are obfuscated. So if you want to add some simple scripts (as, for example, a tracking code for analytics) you can easily do it. But if you want to change some important things in the logic of the game you should do it with the WiMi5 Game Editor and then download it again.

Your editor looks good, although I haven't spent enough time with it yet to decide if it does everything I need.

How much can you change in terms of actually writing your own code? I know there are black boxes that allow you to write your own code, but then that only applies to that particular black box. The visual programming is cool, but I can see it being useful only for very simple things, for more complex systems you'll need to write your own code that is not confined to a black box, but has access to everything that happens in your game at a higher level. Is that possible?

One more (possibly more important) question. Since you are putting a lot of emphasis on the monetisation part, I have to ask: how much money can you make with a WiMi5 game, can you give us any figures of what existing users are making with it?

Thanks

Hi Maril,

thanks for your comments and interest. I think the best way to answer your questions is to give you this URL where you can find all the info related with Blackboxes and CodeRunners (the type of blackbox you are speaking about)

http://wimi5.com/use-coderunner-blackbox/

You have more info in the tutorials section. You will find there 'how to's, videotutorials and tech docs.

You can also make your technical questions in the Support forums, where you will get your answers quicklier than here.
