  • Now you can download your games as a .zip file and run it in any web server

We can publish to IOS, Android, Chrome OS and Firefox in just one click ? Meaning I dont need a Mac to publish to IOS if I'm using WiMi5 ?

Currently you can download your game as a .zip file and use any wrapper (CocoonJS, Crosswalk or Cordoba) to create an iOS/Android app. We are working now on a feature that allows you to directly download the .apk from our publishing options.

We are now a recommended game engine to create HTML5 games for Chrome Web Store :)

 

We also have released a new version of WiMi5 (0.5.4), including these new features:

 

-Blackboxes help improved

-WebAudio API integration

-Projects save improvement

-We fixed a bug in the cache for the audio resources

-Other minor bugs were fixed

yes, you can download your project. We have written a tutorial explaining how to do it.

 

You can edit your project after downloading it, you have all the code (HTML, CSS and Javascript). But some parts of the code are obfuscated. So if you want to add some simple scripts (as, for example, a tracking code for analytics) you can easily do it. But if you want to change some important things in the logic of the game you should do it with the WiMi5 Game Editor and then download it again.

Your editor looks good, although I haven't spent enough time with it yet to decide if it does everything I need.

 

How much can you change in terms of actually writing your own code? I know there are black boxes that allow you to write your own code, but then that only applies to that particular black box. The visual programming is cool, but I can see it being useful only for very simple things, for more complex systems you'll need to write your own code that is not confined to a black box, but has access to everything that happens in your game at a higher level. Is that possible?

 

One more (possibly more important) question. Since you are putting a lot of emphasis on the monetisation part, I have to ask: how much money can you make with a WiMi5 game, can you give us any figures of what existing users are making with it?
