    Its been a long time but we are finally ready to release a public alpha of Super Combat Squadron.  Multiplayer is included.

    Try it out and we would really appreciate it if you provide feedback!  We are just a tiny team doing this in our free time and feedback is like gold to us.

    WiLD11 reacted to digitsensitive in Juno: 2D game framework in TypeScript.
    Hello there! I recently published a simple and lightweight 2D game framework written in TypeScript for making tiny pixel style HTML5 Games. The structure of Juno is similar to that of fantasy consoles with a simple API. Creating prototypes is very easy. You can use Javascript or Typescript.
    Framework: https://github.com/digitsensitive/juno
    Examples: https://github.com/digitsensitive/juno-examples
    The framework is in a very early stage of development, still you can already make the first games. Maybe something for your next gam jam? Or just to try and play around? This is the first small game I made with the framework:

    WiLD11 reacted to PhaserEditor2D in My Phaser Story
    This part was very fun for me: "go abroad if you are in a developed country. I saved up $10k and moved to China & Taiwan for about 2 years,"
    It happened something similar to me. I was living in Europe when I did Phaser Chains, I was working in something too boring for me, building a trading platform on top of Eclipse RCP, but Phaser Chains liked a lot to the Phaser community and said, well, this liked the people more than I expected, I was making tools on top of Eclipse for years, I love compilers, I love tools, I love game development, I love Cuba, ok, I am going back to Cuba right now. I developed the first version of the editor in two or three months, the 0.5K euros I had, gone to 0, I had a kid, but the editor started to sell something, and because I am in Cuba, with a few sells I was able to continue working only on the editor. Today, the editor is providing me the needed resources to feed a family and enjoy (not traveling) but a normal life and what is more important, the option of doing what I love: to focus on developing my own ideas. Developed countries, or environments, can boost your product to a level you cannot do in other places, but if you do not have a solid background, it could be very hard to keep alive just doing what you really love.

    @WiLD11 thanks man, I'll train with Phaser cause I'm new to it, but I've made a little game, just for fun, a clone of Wario's Wood from SNES, cloning it's just an feature that I've training for years, just to get necessary ability.

    Just like you would with any other language/library.
    There are companies that hire phaser developers, you can sell games to publishers. You can even make bigger games with phaser and try to sell them (shameless self plug for our game http://www.laxviking.com/)

    There is plenty of money to be made, you just have to figure out what works for you and what you enjoy doing.
    Just focus on making high quality games, and the money will come naturally.

    Hope this helped.

    Okay it is been a loooong time since an update.  What can I say, game dev while working full time is a slow process.  But we are getting very close to a demo release and so here is a gameplay video of a match between myself and another developer, @WiLD11

    WiLD11 got a reaction from Sakthivadivel in Sprites are shaking while moving from right to left
    I'm assuming you're doing spritesheet animation along with the movement.
    99% of the times a sprite would shake if it's part of a spritesheet is the way it is positioned in the spritesheet, maybe the frame is offset by a few pixels in the spritesheet making it look shaky.
    Otherwise I would encourage you to make bodies visible and see if it has anything to do with your movement code.

    You should use the 9 slice method!

    Bingo! Cheers for that. This was the fix:
    for (var i = 0; i < map.length; i++) { for (var j = 0; j < map[i].length; j++) { if (map[i][j] == 1) { var wall = walls.create(j * 32, i * 32, 'wall'); wall.body.immovable = true; if (i > 0 && map[i - 1][j] == 1) { wall.body.checkCollision.up = false; } if (i < map.length - 1 && map[i + 1][j] == 1) { wall.body.checkCollision.down = false; } } } }

    You need to set checkCollision.up and down to false on those blocks.

    I think you should get a version of the 'fat' model and the 'skinny' model and compare the position of the verts, and position them closer to one another based on a percentage or number.

    Good read!
    I definitely agree about calling it Lazer and not Phaser 3 as a person who has made alot of phaser tutorials in the past. It would be less confusing for everyone I guess since they would be so different.

    I see, I will be sure to make it very clear what version of phaser I am using in future tutorials to avoid people having errors. I don't think changing to Lazer would be that beneficial. The only thing really is the legal issues, if they come knocking at your door then Lazer sounds like a good fallback.

    I dont think so because dollar is inside a group, and that group is inside a function, and i call this function in the create function so all is ready to pass throught the update function.
    Btw i solved it, i executed it in another browser, and i've noticed that i have to put a this, before the DollarCheck();
    So instead of DollarCheck(); i wrote this.DollarCheck(); And now it works. But thanks anyway mate.

    Hi @rich

    I think you love Phaser and I honestly don't see a real need to change of name (unless you are worry about that question of the rights of the movie). You can call it Phaser v3 no matter how much internal changes it has or if you are using webpack, ES6 or typescript, or if it supports 3D.
    What is Phaser? I see the answer is more about what users can do with it and how.
    Is common to see how technologies change so much but the name remains, just take a look to Windows 3.11 vs Windows 10.
    I don't code in python too much these days, but years ago Python 3 was a massive change internally and externally: they did not change the name.
    Actually there is this sequence of C, C++ and C#! Why not a Phaser v3?
    Phaser v3 is getting a lot of exciting features and the Phaser team is working with pleasure, it is a good sign. There are time to migrate it to ES6 later, I think.
