    Hi everyone. For the last few months I’ve been working on a simple HTML5 2D side scrolling action game called Theraxius. It's nothing new and revolutionary, it's more like an evolution of different technology. The game also includes a level editor so you can create your own levels. Engine (all game logic and level editor) is written completely in JavaScript, no download is required. Just load and play. Level data (stored in JSON format in the database) is exchanged thru Ajax calls. Server side is written in PHP. All images and sounds are preloaded from the server before play. The game uses HTML5 features like canvas, Fullscreen API, Pointer Lock API, Audio,… At this moment only Chrome and Firefox are supported. The game is meant to be played on PC, phones and tablets are not supported.
    In the next weeks I’ll try to post some videos, try to add registration (for newsletter and later for public test).

    Is it possible to just drop in a pixi application into a component without using pixi-react or anything like this?  It is hard to find a solution to this.  I am not really into declaritive style for building out this application...

    What do you mean by kill() doesn't actually kill the sprite? It should remove it from view at least.

    You can use either kill or destroy if you want to. You can destroy everything if you want, and you can still make a working game. The reason you would use kill is because in many cases it will be more efficient.

    Are you familiar with memory allocation or garbage collection concepts? It would take too long for me to explain it here, but if you don't know how they work, it may be worth doing some googling to research it.
    The basic idea is creating a new object causes Phaser to do some time consuming work that is hidden from you. If you revive a killed object, you get to skip that expensive step. If you destroy the object and then create a new one in its place, that expensive step has to happen again.
    It is especially important for games that have objects that are being removed and added often: things like bullets, constantly spawning enemies, pick up items like coins and power ups, etc.  If you want to remove a sprite and never use it again, then it is best to destroy it, but if you plan on re-using it, it is a good idea to get comfortable with kill/revive now. If you design the game to use destroy now and then find out that the game is too slow later on, it can be very difficult to refactor the code to use kill/revive in place of destroy.

    What finally worked is using your approach AND setting the second parameter to true. 
    hero.animations.play("fall");hero.animations.currentAnim.setFrame(8, true); useLocalFrameIndex = true, works but I don't know what it means exactly. Thanks.

    Its because your scripts will be running in index so you will be 'assets/image.png'.
    Doesn't matter where the js files, just matters where the canvas is located and in this case its located on index.html

    Just browse the "build/custom" folder in Phaser CE repository on GitHub. The "phaser-no-physics.js" might interest you.
    And if you downloaded Phaser CE from npm, you'll find these files inside the phaser-ce package too.

    Hi guys, I am building a multiplayer game in Phaser.  I want to add a UI button that builds a QR code so other people can scan the laptop or cell phone and join right into the game.  Has any of you implemented QR code generation into any of your games and if so would you like to share how you did it. 
    I will attempt today and post what I end up using.
