  1. OK, this is weird. I spent a lot of time trying to figure out why my image objects wasn't firing when I tapped on it (it works on desktop). After several tests I noticed that it happened that on mobile screen the clickable area was off of the image (displaced). I found that someone had a similar issue and figured that it had something to do with devicepixelratio when using Phaser.CANVAS. I couldn't test with Phaser.AUTO because my mobile throws a WebGL error when I try to use it. Any idea how to fix this issue? Thanks!

  4. I just did HTML5 implementation of an old game from Unix platform which seemed pretty much lost. The AI is moderate to avoid performance issues on the client browser. Expecting some feedback on it. Web: http://www.playonlinedicegames.com/jumpingcube Android: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.algotgames.jumpingcube
  5. I just ran into another issue with Phaser and I'd like to know if it's a known bug – and of course if there is a solution! I am trying to play sounds (mp3) with no success. The sound plays fine on my computer using Windows browser but the same code won't produce any sound on Opera Mobile Emulator or on my actual mobile (Samsung J2). I didn't try 'ogg' format because I searched online and found other people with the same problem and that have actually tried with no success. After several frustrated tests with my own code I tried the following Phaser examples: https://phaser.io/examples/v2/audio/loop https://phaser.io/examples/v2/audio/play-music Guess what... same issue: works on computer but not on Opera Emulator neither my mobile. Since I am writing this code specifically for mobiles this is a MUST for me that sounds play on them. Any clue? Below my code... var game = new Phaser.Game(window.innerWidth, window.innerHeight, Phaser.AUTO, 'test', { preload: preload, create: create }); var aExtensions = [ ]; var aExtensions = ['.png','.mp3']; var aTypes = ['img','snd']; var aAssets = ['door','knock']; function preload() { game.load.image(aAssets[0],aTypes[0]+'/'+aAssets[0]+aExtensions[0]); game.load.audio(aAssets[1],aTypes[1]+'/'+aAssets[1]+aExtensions[1]); } function create() { var gamegroup = game.add.group(); gamegroup.inputEnableChildren = true; window[aAssets[0]] = gamegroup.create(0,0, aAssets[0]); window[aAssets[1]+'snd']= game.add.audio(aAssets[1]); window[aAssets[0]].inputEnabled = true; window['lst'+aAssets[0]] = function (me) { knocksnd.play(); me.visible = false; } window[aAssets[0]].events.onInputUp.add(window['lst'+aAssets[0]], this); } Thanks!
  6. I'm using PhaserCE 2.10.0 and I've setup my game in (256) x (256*aspectRatio) in portrait mode using the SHOW_ALL scale method to size up to the screen. Everything's been going pretty well, but now I've run into a weird issue. I'm just not sure if it's a bug I should report or if I should just be doing something different. On android(in chrome and the cocoon dev app) pointer coordinates(read via input.pointer#.x|y) max out at 104. On desktop, it works just fine, with x coordinates maxing at 255 and y maxing dependent on the screen aspect ratio. Here's a debug shot of my input dev view where I touched 2 fingers down near the center of the screen and moved them to opposite corners of the view. I've tried a few different versions of Phaser 2.10.1, 2.7.10, and 2.4.9 and found that the issue goes away with 2.4.9. Obviously, I could just use an old version for now but... I don't wanna. Anyone with more Phaser experience know what might have changed to cause this? If it helps, here's my init call: App.game = new Phaser.Game({ width: scale.width, height: scale.height, renderer: Phaser.AUTO, antialias: false, resolution: 1 }) Boot state setup: Boot.prototype.create = function _Boot_create() { this.game.time.advancedTiming = App.debug this.game.renderer.renderSession.roundPixels = true this.game.scale.scaleMode = Phaser.ScaleManager.SHOW_ALL this.game.scale.pageAlignHorizontally = true this.game.scale.pageAlignVertically = true this.game.scale.refresh() this.game.state.start("load") } Play state create: Play.prototype.create = function _Play_create() { var scale = Util.scale() this.world.resize(scale.width, 5*scale.height) this.physics.arcade.gravity.y = 750 this.stage.backgroundColor = "#aaddff" this.player = new Player(this) new Floor(this, this.game.world.height) new Platform(this, 64, this.game.world.height - 64, 64, 1) this.camera.follow(this.player.sprite) this.controls = new Input(this) } Input setup for Play state: var Input = function _Input ( scene ) { this.scene = scene this.cursors = this.scene.input.keyboard.createCursorKeys() this.scene.input.gamepad.start() this.pad1 = this.scene.input.gamepad.pad1 this.p1 = this.scene.input.pointer1 this.p2 = this.scene.input.pointer2 this.butt = 0 this.scene.input.gamepad.onDownCallback = function (e) { this.butt = e } }
  7. I have an issue with the audio when first start the game in the menu state. The audio doesn't play. But after I start playing the game from another state and return to the menu state it works fine. When i test in android phone it doesn't work properly, but when I test emulator it seems to work fine. I use phonegap to build the app. Below is the code to my menu state var menuAudio = null; var menuState = { create: function () { this.menuAudio = game.add.audio('cheering'); this.menuAudio.loop = false; this.menuAudio.volume = 1; this.menuAudio.play(); var favButton = this.game.add.button(370,780,"favFolder",this.favMovies,this); favButton.anchor.setTo(0.5,0.5); }, favMovies: function(){ if (this.menuAudio != null) { this.menuAudio.destroy(); } game.state.start("difficulty"); } }

  10. Just wanted say hi to the community by posting about my first game, it was build using the html5 canvas combined with other DOM elements. Didn't use a framework so it's pretty rough around the edges. I only released it for android (didn't want to pay the apple subscription fee :P) I'm building another mobile game using Phaser 2.9.2 CE right now and absolutely loving it - looking forward to sharing it with you guys! Google Play Store link: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.gmm.spacedemons&hl=en Any feedback/comments would be very much appreciated!

  12. Hello, I would like to know if it is possible to have screen touch controls on mobile instead of the buttons? In my game i tried having buttons to jump and it functioned correctly... however I am looking for a way to make my character jump wherever we actually touch the screen and not just one specific button. is that possible? Also is it possible to have movement controls such as the attached in Phaser? is this a good example: https://phaser.io/examples/v2/input/virtual-gamecontroller Thank you!

  14. Hi all, I’ve been working on a mobile game that teaches you basic vocabulary. I released 2 languages a few months back and have got a lot of positive feedback, so I have just recently added more languages, including Chinese! What this game does that separates it from other educational games is that it’s built from the ground up as a game first, meaning that it plays just like a fun and quick mobile game. Another goal I had is that when you close it, you will actually remember the words that you learned outside of it’s context. It seems obvious that an educational app would have this “feature” but I’ve had issues with a lot of apps that I’ve used before where if someone quizzes me on the content within the app when I’m not playing it, I can barely recall anything. Check it out and let me know what you think! Chinese: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.jernung.infinite.zho Spanish: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.jernung.infinite.spa French: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.jernung.infinite.fra German: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.jernung.infinite.deu iOS versions will be released next month

  18. Hi, I have a problem with a phaser android game, build with Phonegap, in the android 4.4.2 version, the canvas is showed in the middle of the phone screen, showing the rest of the screen in black. You can move this canvas to position 0,0 after the screen is showed. In other android versions this does not happen. The game is shown in landscape mode, but in portrait mode the same thing happens. I add a screenshot of the game to show this problem. I appreciate any help. The android game is published in https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.phonegap.WackTrump. Thanks in advance. Greetings.
  19. Hi everybody, To thank the users of this forum who helped me a lot, i put my template available to help new beginners or someone else. This template offers : correct scaling without stretching effect portrait mode (for landscape mode you must invert width and height) works with cocoon in webview+ and canvas+ mode (deviceready implemented) upload the file source.zip in cocoon.io and run it. https://cocoon.io/ NOTICE for canvas+, avoid this syntax, that don't work in canvas+, in webview and webview+ no problem let variable; const anothervariable; var myFunc=()=>{} and prefer this: var variable; var myFunc = function(){}; simple example with prototype and inheritance use the states (i personnaly put all the states in a single file but you can quite put them in separate files, it's necessary to inform them in index.html eg: <script src="src/otherfile.js"></script> This template is based on : https://github.com/EnclaveGames/Cyber-Orb and how to adjust the scale is based on: Now my template for the beginners , index.html <!DOCTYPE html> <html> <head> <meta charset="utf-8" /> <title>example_test_scale</title> <link rel="shortcut icon" href="favicon.png" type="image/x-icon" /> <style> body { margin: auto; 21. In Android 5.0 (Lollipop), the WebView has moved to an APK so it can be updated seperately to the Android platform. (WebView for Android) I tested one of my games (Sudoku Tips for Android) on Samsung Galaxy. It seems that finally Android WebView is fast enough for mobile games! That's great news as now you can use your HTML5 skills on mobile apps, wrap your existing HTML5 games easily as Android apps and build mobile games with very small footprint (< 5MB).

  23. I created a quickstart application that I hope would be useful to some of you. It is a Phaser 2.8.8 quick start application that incorporates Webpack (ES6), and Cordova. It supports iOS and Android out of the box, along with all default Phaser supported web browsers. https://github.com/udia-software/phaser-cordova-es6 The code is on Github and is licensed under Apache V2. Enjoy!
  24. With some hacks from these two links: http://stackoverflow.com/questions/21406781/how-can-i-bring-up-the-keyboard-on-mobile-devices-to-catch-the-input-for-drawing?lq=1 I managed to open the keyboard on my android device. However the keystrokes i do are not sent to the Phaser game i.e my Phaser text field is not filled with data. <input id="hiddenInput" type="text" name="hiddenInput" style="position:absolute; left:-1px; top: -1px; width:1px; height:1px; opacity:0;"/> <script> $(document).ready( function() { $("#hiddenInput").focus(); }); </script> I am using Intel XDK and I upgraded my project to use cordova plugins. I installed ionic-plugin-keyboard but it behaves similar, i.e show/hide the keyboard but the input is not detected by Phaser. What do I miss to do or what do i do wrong? Any suggestions?
