Hi all,

Bowling Game is a 3D bowling game you play with a flick. Free, in the browser, no sign-up.

Play: https://oreumgames.com/en/games/flash/bowling/

Bowling Game title screen

Drag the ball sideways to pick your spot, then flick up to roll it. Curve the end of your flick and the ball hooks. Just like it is hard to throw a straight ball in real bowling, strikes in this bowling game are harder to get than you might think. When you slide your finger, even a slight curve can make the ball hook in.

There are 60 stages with target scores, 12 balls to buy with coins, 12 missions, and up to 3 players can take turns on one phone or PC. It works on phone (upright or sideways) and PC.

Tech, since this is a dev forum: Three.js for the alley, but no physics engine. The pins are hand-written. A standing pin is a stick that tips over around its base, and once it falls it becomes a body that rolls and bounces, colliding with other pins through four small spheres. My first tuning was far too generous. Pins flew so hard that a ball straight into the head pin struck 42% of the time, so I turned the bounce down until dead-center dropped to about 17% and the pocket between the 1 and 3 pins became the place to aim again. The music is also code, a little disco loop made with the Web Audio API, so there are no music files.

Bowling Game

Made by a very small indie team in Korea.

One thing I would like to hear: does the hook feel too strong, or just right?

Thanks for playing!
