Arcadity: browser puzzle games with competitive modes (feedback welcome)

I've now checked with the developer: within the same Challenge round, all players receive identical difficulty, random seed and other settings. The rows, columns and mine count do not vary between players in that round. Different Challenge rounds may use different difficulty settings or seeds, and may feature different games.

I also need to clarify my earlier practice explanation: each player gets one official attempt per round, and after completing that attempt, repeat practice is available.

We plan to make this clearer in the event description.

Thanks for checking with the developer; that settles the question about board settings within a round. The practice correction matters too, since practising afterwards can't prepare someone for their one official attempt. Would you put a short note beside the start button saying that practice unlocks only after that attempt?

Thanks for the specific suggestion, manuelcondect. The update is now live: the start area explains that starting stage 1 uses your only official attempt, and unranked replays unlock after that attempt ends, until the event closes. Simply viewing the page doesn't use your attempt.

The page also clarifies that saved stage scores still count on the leaderboard if a later stage fails or times out. This round's Minesweeper settings are now listed as 16 × 12, 50 mines, with a 5-minute limit.

Thanks for turning that around so quickly. The note in the start area, plus the clarification that simply viewing the page does not spend the attempt, covers the gap I was stuck on, and listing 16x12 with 50 mines and a 5-minute limit takes the guesswork out of the board comparison. Are those settings frozen for the rest of this round, or can the round be updated again while people still have their official attempt pending?

Yes, the settings stay frozen until this round ends. We won't change them midway through the round, including while some players still have their official attempt pending.
