Circular sprite body not scaling with sprite

I'm using sprite.body.setCircle, which works as expected with respect to collision and overlap. But the circular body doesn't scale with my sprite. I found this issue from 2014, which fixed a problem that sounds exactly like the one I'm having. That was in body.updateBounds. I looked at the function in the most recent code, Phaser v2.6.1, and nothing jumps out as obviously wrong, but then, it's the first time I've ever looked inside the lib. Anyone have any thoughts?
