Phaser Arcade Physics Rotating Rectangle?

As of Phaser 2.6.0 is there a solution to having a rotating rectangle and players who are small enough to fit in the corners of the AABB collision box? I don't really want all the advanced features of P2 and Arcade is perfect. Say a rectangle that is rotated what would be the best way to detect that it didn't actually hit the rectangle? It is really only a small part of my game but it is still a necessary feature because I will have a car (top down game). Would it make sense to have a little algorithm to do a secondary collision check on my cars? Any ideas or solutions would be appreciated!
