VR camera ignores parent

Clicking the playground scene swaps the camera between a FreeCamera and WebVRFreeCamera.  They are both parented to a mesh that is positioned and rotated slightly, but only the FreeCamera inherits the transforms.  Is this the intended behavior? Is there another way I should go about inheriting transform data onto a VR camera?  (For example, this would be very helpful in the case of creating a roller coaster VR experience/game.)
