Multi browser/Player scaling?

Hi guys/gals,

I've been scouting around so forgive me if this has been aswered, I've created a basic game using socket.IO from one of the various examples, the premis of which is the player (icon) can move on a given grid that i would like to ocupy the whole browser window. That I've acheived, however at different resolutions one player can navigate off the map of another player (different screen size).

Thus, how could i scale the game to ensure the same playable area is visible irrrespective of the screen size? n.b desktop resolutions only in this case.
