vedia
I've been in the browser game space for about 8 years. I joined late, and it feels like I definitely missed the “golden era” of the sector. Over the years I’ve released a handful of games. They did reasonably well, generated decent passive income, and were stable for a while. But in the last few months revenue has dropped by ~80%. Nothing major changed in the games themselves—some small updates, but mostly not. They are your typical "age-less" web games. The decline was sudden and steep: from comfortable four-figure months to scraping low triple-digits. I’m trying to understand: Where did the audience go? Has the market fundamentally shifted toward platforms like TikTok/Instagram/AI? Is browser gaming dying, or just transforming? If transforming, in what way? What are other devs in this niche doing now? I’d really like to hear how others are navigating this transition, where you see the market heading, and what opportunities you think exist going forward.
