scifferous
Hi everyone — I built **BREAKCAMP**, a free fan-made **MLB career simulation** that runs entirely in the browser (HTML5 / React). Sister game to [CUTDAY](https://www.html5gamedevs.com/) (NFL) — same product shape, all-new baseball content. **Play:** https://breakcamp.shaly-c.workers.dev/ **About:** https://breakcamp.shaly-c.workers.dev/about.html **Tagline:** Live the career. Break camp. ## What it is You create a player and live a full career from high school through the majors: draft day, **break camp / Opening Day roster crunch**, minors buses, call-ups, options, contracts, seasons, story events, and retirement. Careers get a comparable 0–100 grade so you can compete on the worldwide Hall of Fame, take the shared daily challenge, or duel a friend. All 30 MLB teams with logos and franchise flavor. ## Modes - **Career** — custom run, your choices - **Daily challenge** — same seed for everyone that day - **Friend duel** — linked careers; live rival grade/stats while you both play, then 1st/2nd podium + rematch - **Hall of Fame** — local + worldwide leaderboard ## Tech - **HTML5** browser game / installable **PWA** - **React + Vite** front end - **Cloudflare Workers** API (KV duels, D1 leaderboard) - Web Audio SFX, canvas confetti, Ken Burns stage backgrounds, mobile-friendly UI ## Screenshots (Attach images using “Add to post” so they embed inline.) Suggested set: 1. Hero promo (`public/promo/breakcamp-social-promo-16x9.png`) 2. Mid-career decision / break camp moment 3. Friend duel — live rival board 4. Retirement / career card or Hall of Fame 5. Mobile play layout ## Feedback I’d love 1. Does **break camp / roster crunch** land as the emotional peak the way cut day does in football? 2. Is the minors → call-up → options loop clear, or does it feel like noise between big moments? 3. Any first-impression friction on mobile (title → play → share duel)? Unofficial fan project — **not affiliated with MLB**. Team names/logos are used in a fan context. Thanks for playing / critiquing — happy to answer tech or design questions. The Pulse Universe
This looks really interesting. I especially like the focus on the whole career arc instead of just individual matches. The minors → call-up → options loop sounds like it could create some great “one more season” stories. For the first-impression friction, I’d probably make the first meaningful decision happen as early as possible, even if the deeper contract and roster systems unlock after a short introduction. I’m working on a browser-based management game too, so I’m very interested in how you balance long-term progression with quick sessions. Good luck with it — I’ll give it a try! — The Pulse Universe | Solo dev
