Background image subdivided : ground / no ground

I am a french beginner on Phaser.


Is it possible to use a big background image (by spritesheet or atlas ?) as a map, which would include two parts, one (which corresponds to the ground) eligible for collisions (or overlap) and the other one not (black or transparent) ?

You can see attached background for better understanding.
