que
Hello! I'm quite new here and just getting started with Babylon JS. I'm trying to create a shape like the one below: http://www.babylonjs-playground.com/#1JEOKR#0 However, CAP_ALL doesn't seem to work? Or what am I doing wrong? Thanks in advance
Wingnut
Hi @que, welcome to the forum. http://www.babylonjs-playground.com/#1JEOKR#1 Caps working, when I disable line 55. Know why? I knew ya did. http://www.babylonjs-playground.com/#1JEOKR#2 There's a crack in your DetailShape. A little gap at the beginning of your last quarter circle. I will let you fix the crack, but holler if you need assistance. Fun Fact: When a FOR-loop is off-by-one, which is probably the reason for the crack... it is sometimes called a "fencepost error". Read here, as wanted. I also added a bounce-off-the-sky hemispheric light, with belly-lighting (groundColor)... so your material would be fully lit and seen. Why that top section is black, I'm not sure. Perhaps it will turn gray once the crack is welded/taped. Cool playground, I like it. You are really good at making those nice smooth curves. Well done! Thanks alot Wingnut! Yeah it seems like whenever radius and y is the same, it calculates 10^2 - 10^2 which is 0 and Math.sqrt(0) is not going to work for obvious reasons Wingnut
