NotionGames Posted January 20, 2021 Share Posted January 20, 2021 (edited) Super Ubie Island 2 is a love letter to various games from the S/NES era including Super Mario Bros 3, Donkey Kong Country, Sonic the Hedgehog, Rayman and more! The goal is to recreate the feeling of gaming in the 90s with plenty of familiar elements while creating something that feels fresh and modern. I am in love with 2d art and going with a 2d animated aesthetic and filling the environments with plenty of color will help bring a joyful 90s Saturday morning cartoon feel to the adventure! Super Ubie Island is all about making crazy jumps while dodging enemies and collecting items! Super tight controls and permanent abilities that include double-jumping, gliding to further distances with a balloon, wall-jumping and rolling help keep the action frantic while giving players the tools to succeed. I've been working hard on this game solo and am nearing completion. Check out the trailer and various images below ' Music is very important to me as well! It's the glue that binds everything together. Super Ubie Island 2's music is a mash-up of Sonic, Streets of Rage and Mario. This creates an atmosphere that makes the Ubie universe simultaneously feel familiar and unique!
