Hi!

We have been working for more than a year now on a what we call Dev’n’Play strategic game community site: http://www.jocly.com

We released a jocly hub based on jBlocks javascript open source library.

The idea is to let people play, but also create their own games on the platform.

Technologies:
HTML5, javascript, and we are currently working on our first 3D WebGL game using Threejs (no plugin, just WebGL driven through javascript)

You just have to implement your rules and graphics, Jocly provides an API for all you need.

Restrictions: for the moment we only do 2 players abstract strategic games, it means no chance involved (no dice, no cards …)

Once your game is on the platform, you can play live or in turn-based mode, watch people playing, review recorded games, embed a playable game in your site, embed your last victory in a blog post...

And this is just a beginning :)

We are looking for game inventors, players, developers, designers, anyone who will enjoy creating HTML5 games is very welcome.

  • 4 weeks later...

There are generally between 10 and 20 players at the same time on the Jocly hub, increasing over the weeks.

Jocly is quite different from Player.io. As we focus (for now) on 2 players board games, we can provide a much deeper support to games that fit into this category, like generic AI and all the games source code. We also now added support to easily get 3D interfaces like in Yohoho or Chess
