  1. Hey yall, I just released a brief demo of Norco: Faraway Lights, a cyberpunk text adventure with a focus on the environmental and industrial histories of rural Louisiana. It features all original, lovingly rendered pixel art and an incredible soundtrack by New Orleans-based composer Gewgawly I. The demo is available for download or to play in your browser on itch.io. Thoughts and feedback are appreciated!
  2. I got this tile map in tiled:(4x) In 4.1.0 when you video.init using this settings (for integer scale) antiAlias: false, scale: 4 * window.devicePixelRatio, In will draw like this: tile texture are scaled 1 pixel, and it looks very bad. It's all because of these change: So there is an option for creating renderer: * @param {Boolean} [options.textureSeamFix=true] enable the texture seam fix when rendering Tile when antiAlias is off for the canvasRenderer But it's not in the API document yet, and also you can pass this option to video.int which you might not know like me, so, to fix it add textureSeamFix: false video.init : if (!me.video.init(256, 208, { wrapper: 'screen', antiAlias: false, scale: 4 * window.devicePixelRatio, textureSeamFix: false }))

  5. I've seen a few tips on how to disable anitaliasing and smoothing, but nothing seems to work, and many of the posts are quite outdated. Right now I'm doing this: if (this.game.context) { this.game.renderer.setSmoothingEnabled(game.context, false);} else { this.game.renderer.options.antialias = false;} this.game.antialias = false;this.game.stage.smoothed = false;this.game.scale.width = gameWidth * zoom;this.game.scale.height = gameHeight * zoom;this.game.scale.refresh();Where zoom is 2, so it scales nicely, but the antialiasing is still destroying the pixel art, suggesting that nothing I've done is working. Any ideas?
  6. Hi to all members ! Can help you with pixel art.
  7. I've got a pixel art image of a planet. If I use game.stage.smoothed = false; when I start rotating the image it gets fuzzy and looks... shitty... here's a demo: http://www.kvaba.com/public/test/ (control with arrows) here's the basic code that rotates the planet: update: function () { if ((game.input.keyboard.isDown(Phaser.Keyboard.RIGHT) || this.mobileMoveRight) && this.gameLogic.showingMenu == false) { // some other code ... this.groupPlanet.rotation -= 0.003; } } NOTE: the fuzziness appears ONLY if game.stage.smoothed = false; Can anyone explain to me what is the issue and if there's a workaround? Thanks in advance!

  9. Hello, everyone! I'm developing a game with isometric & true pixel art graphics, no 3d stuff. Previously I've had drawn by myself, but now I'm feeling in need for help. It's a city building game, similar to simcity and with graphical style more to transport tycoon. There is need to draw buildings, terrain, gui icons etc. Is there anyone interested in cooperation? I'm working on this in overall more than 2 years. I've had few different prototypes, had developed own simple engine. So I'm not feeling on abandoning this project now, when its near to be finished. Here is some demos: http://narushevich.lv/isometrica/ http://narushevich.lv/vkaria/

  11. Hi there, I´m making a game and I need a few graphics, at the moment at least the hero with a few basic animations. I´m talking about a basic spritesheet, something like 16x32 pixels, kind of... I guess I´ll new more stuff later as I only have the tileset for the map, but at the moment I need this: walk cycle jump cycle hooray animation iddle animation and a static frame Please, send me a PM with some of your works to check if it fits into the style and your hour rate and I´ll give you all the info about the project Thanks.
  12. For any 2d Pixel Art artists out there, I am looking for help with getting some better artwork than what I was able create on my own. If you are looking to expand your portfolio, and are interested in helping me out I would love a more talented individual than me see what they can create. The game is a multiplayer tank battle game set in an apocalyptic world. You can see my posting for review here: The game is a top down action game, and I am currently looking for a tileset for my maps, better tank and weapon artwork, better effect artwork, and lastly page/icon and general display work for the opening page, loading pages, etc. The tileset and tank/weapon designs are probably the most important to me right now, and I feel like cleaner ones would help me "sell" the game to new players a lot better. This has been a year+ worth of work, and is definitely something I would like to see get played by folks, but I feel like it is not quite what I want visually. With some talented assistance, I feel like it could be a great looking game.I would like to try get enough polish on the game to feel like it would be able to be finished with art design by Sep 2016, if possible. Take a look at my showcase post, or just use the link direct to the game (http://game-128ghardpoint.rhcloud.com/signin.html) . It does require a google account for authentication.. The design plans for the near future are to add a faction based competitive system to entice people to play and earn faction specific rewards on a cycle of 3 months, and I want to look into single player missions and/or bots to allow folks to play when other folks are not online, which is a problem right now. But those are my last big coding items I want to knock out. So, I want to have the art all finished around the same time. If you are interested, contact me and I will send you additional sprite sheets, and describe what I am looking for in more detail. I am attaching some current gifs of the tank/weapons in action just to so can see what the overall design is.

  16. I need a pixel artist for a platformer I'm working on! Contact me at alecm@sfu.ca for more specifics. Working on a retro-styled 2D platformer game. Essentially, a film noire detective story platformer, with a combination of precise jumps, melee fighting, and gadget puzzles. Tentatively titled "Dark Room: A Quentin O'Reilly Adventure". The game is a resolution of 512x288px, or 32 tiles x 18 tiles (consisting of 16x16px tiles). I'm looking for the following: - some animated character sprites (approx. 48px by 16px) - environment tiles, walls, platforms, various objects, etc. (16px by 16px square) - misc assets, GUI, HUD, etc. TBD. Initially, I'm interesting in a main character design (the detective) and some sample assets which fit the genre. If your style fits, more work would follow! The game is a hobby, with a goal of building a demo to release to a few of my contacts in the games industry before considering full development and a full release. If the demo is successful, and the game art style and mechanics seem fruitful, I will build a Kickstarter campaign leading to a full release on the Mac App Store or though the Humble Store, or equivalent. I cannot initially pay you, I am simply offering a chance to build portfolio. If your style fits, and development continues with your art, you will receive listing in the game's credits. If the game reaches Kickstarter or paid release (whichever is first), you will receive monetary compensation for your work. I look forward to hearing from you!
  17. Having a lot of trouble getting pixel art graphics to not be blurry. There are a lot of people having the same problems I find, but many articles are 2 or 3 years old. I have tried canvas, pixi.js and phaser for displaying graphics, phonegap and Intel XDK for making apps. Even solutions that work on desktop don't seem to work on mobile devices because of the higher dpi. It's still blurry. This method of scaling also apparently breaks touch input, so any solutions for that would be appreciated. I think the main problem is the browser is scaling the canvas pixels up to match the dpi. I want to be able to work without anything getting scaled. Is there any hope? It seems like something we should have solved by now...
  18. We have just released a new game to the Google Play Store and Amazon App Store for all Android Devices 4.1+. It is a simple casual-style, family-friendly puzzle/strategy game where you sort various types of trash into appropriate bins while distracting and eliminating raccoons that try to block your path. The standard version can be found here: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.newtindustries.garbinge The free, ad-supported version can be found here: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.newtindustries.garbingefree Happy sorting!

  25. Hello, I am a C# and JAVA programmer with some years of experience, I am looking for a pixel art graphics designer that will be able to draw the main character with all of the animations. Right now I'm developing a mobile 2D runner game with a Pug as a main character. I'm developing in Unity, I have had a project in the past, unfortunately I have never released it to the public. I could draw everything myself but I can only draw in very low-res . But I need the pug to be around 300 pixels wide and I want the pug to be something like this List of animations I need and pricing can be discussed via skype. I might also in future need things like enemies, GUI, terrain etc. Is there anyone interested in cooperation? If you are interested please reply to thread, and if you have a portfolio that would be great if you'd send a link also!
