  5. I've seen a few tips on how to disable anitaliasing and smoothing, but nothing seems to work, and many of the posts are quite outdated. Right now I'm doing this: if (this.game.context) { this.game.renderer.setSmoothingEnabled(game.context, false);} else { this.game.renderer.options.antialias = false;} this.game.antialias = false;this.game.stage.smoothed = false;this.game.scale.width = gameWidth * zoom;this.game.scale.height = gameHeight * zoom;this.game.scale.refresh();Where zoom is 2, so it scales nicely, but the antialiasing is still destroying the pixel art, suggesting that nothing I've done is working. Any ideas?

  7. Hey guys, Don't know if anyone's interested, but I've been working on a pixel art editing webapp that might be useful for game devs looking to create some pixel art or tiles or bitmaps. It's called Pixel Editor Pro and it's at: http://www.amelyn.com/pixel_editor_pro/index.htm It's free to use at the moment. Right now, I'm just looking for feedback from users about: 1. what features they would like to see in an online pixel editor 2. how the app might be improved. 3. what improvements/additions would make this a tool you would pay real cold hard cash for every month. I'm working on new features for it at the moment. I'll probably implement the following features next: - User Guide in PDF format explaining what all the different sections of the app are and what all the different buttons do :) - settings section where the user can set different preferences such as (1) size of pixel squares in the Edit Single Tile section, (2) background colour etc. - display the current row and column over which the user is hovering when editing a single tile - tile merge feature; build a new tile by merging a bunch of different tiles in sequence - multiple tile merge feature; merge a single background tile with multiple other tiles to build a bunch of new tiles Please feel free to post any and all feedback in this thread or email it to me directly at [email protected]. I'm going to read all feedback I receive and use it to improve the app. All feedback will be gratefully received. Cheers, Miktor
  8. Hi! I'm looking for a pixel artist to draw the logo for a game titled Warp VII. As the game is web-based, a matching favicon is also needed. The game is a low-res, multiplayer tactical coop experience with a sci-fi setting. I want a wordmark/font-based logo that focuses on the game's title, Warp VII. The casing of the word Warp doesn't matter (both WARP and Warp are fine), but it has to be followed by the roman numeral VII. The logo should have a retro sci-fi look. Some modern filters or effects can be applied to make the logo look like it's displayed on an old-school screen. For inspiration please check the following links: - Seegson Synthetics Wallpaper: https://www.deviantart.com/deimos82/art/Seegson-Synthetics-Wallpaper-461329709 - Seegson Synthetics Wallpaper 2: https://www.deviantart.com/deimos82/art/Seegson-Synthetics-Wallpaper-2-461345504 - Just a few Cyberpunk inspired logos I designed: https://www.reddit.com/r/Cyberpunk/comments/9rjfng/just_a_few_cyberpunk_inspired_logos_i_designed/ - Stragglers - Trailer (the logo is at 1:30): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XZsDIKb0icM I'll leave the coloring of the logo up to the artist; reds, greens & blues would all be fine, as long as the logo looks good over dark backgrounds. Only the logo & favicon are needed, I am not looking for any other sort of graphical assets for the game at this time. I am only interested in low-res, pixelated drawings; no vector art or high-res work. My budget for this is 300$. Please leave me a message with a link to your portfolio that includes some other logos you've drawn. If my budget is too low I'd still like to see your work, so drop me a message with your pricing. Thanks!

  11. Hi all, I know this issue maybe repeated and seems to be very common but I searched first and did not find anything concrete. I am doing some test and playing around with pixijs. I created an stage 320x180 and I am rendering an sprite of 27x27 in a autodetected renderer (WEBGL always is selected) I am in a macos retina resolution (devicepixerate 4) the problem is I can not achieve having the sprite pixelated even setting antialias false in the renderer. I tested the same without pixijs but native canvas 2d context using drawImage and I could get what I wanted using some hacks like after every drawImage set context.imagesmoothingenabled to false and I have CSS file to canvas image-rendering: pixelated. With those I am having exactly what I want, but of course I would like to obtain the same using pixijs and WEBGL. Is it possible? Disable at all antialias in a WEBGL context? How we can deal with this to render pixel arts properly? example using native canvas 2d context drawImage example using PixiJS webgl renderer Cheers.

  15. Hello, haven't been here for a while, in the meantime - I've created with the help of my friend (Andrzej Bieniek, graphical designer) and Marcin 'Gonthek' Nowak (music) a multiplayer bar fight game about vikings flying chickens and being ginger. http://www.vikingsvillage.io/ The game engine is custom made by me, the skeleton is on npm. you can try it: https://www.npmjs.com/package/gameframework-lite Above engine consists of game > levels > characters and loops for each of above 3 The backend is therefore nodejs and on frontend it is pixijs <3 This game is pixel art style with a bit chibi anime touch if you prefer, all graphics are custom made by my friend Andrzej Bieniek. Currently hosting on heroku minimal paid plans 2 servers europe and asia and struggling with adding commercials to this otherwise totally free game. Feel free to ask anything about the game I'll try to answer as good as I can
  16. Hey, guys. I'm a web developer intern at an important company. To enter they asked me to make a game prototype on html5. I thought it was weird because I was from a small town and I was like the "prodigious child" at college. I thought I was the first one on making a video game on html. I thought i was the best until I was proven wrong. Well, I've been learning, making a lot of games of my own on this platform. Lately I've been working on this beat 'em up, and all my co-workers say this is awesome. But lately I've been wondering if HTML5-based games were actually video games (existencial question to me). Anyways, here's a screenshot of my game so far.
  17. Hey yall, I just released a brief demo of Norco: Faraway Lights, a cyberpunk text adventure with a focus on the environmental and industrial histories of rural Louisiana. It features all original, lovingly rendered pixel art and an incredible soundtrack by New Orleans-based composer Gewgawly I. The demo is available for download or to play in your browser on itch.io. Thoughts and feedback are appreciated!
  18. I got this tile map in tiled:(4x) In 4.1.0 when you video.init using this settings (for integer scale) antiAlias: false, scale: 4 * window.devicePixelRatio, In will draw like this: tile texture are scaled 1 pixel, and it looks very bad. It's all because of these change: So there is an option for creating renderer: * @param {Boolean} [options.textureSeamFix=true] enable the texture seam fix when rendering Tile when antiAlias is off for the canvasRenderer But it's not in the API document yet, and also you can pass this option to video.int which you might not know like me, so, to fix it add textureSeamFix: false video.init : if (!me.video.init(256, 208, { wrapper: 'screen', antiAlias: false, scale: 4 * window.devicePixelRatio, textureSeamFix: false }))
  19. Hi all! My name is Asher and I'm available to work on your pixel art projects. My forte is definitely in the low res area (under 32x32) but I can do higher if needed. Portfolio: http://agentash1.wix.com/pixelportfolio Contact Email: [email protected] I've also uploaded some of my larger works for you to view here: This title screen was done for an upcoming game called Noodlesoup.. 21. Hi to all members ! Can help you with pixel art.
  22. I've got a pixel art image of a planet. If I use game.stage.smoothed = false; when I start rotating the image it gets fuzzy and looks... shitty... here's the basic code that rotates the planet: update: function () { if ((game.input.keyboard.isDown(Phaser.Keyboard.RIGHT) || this.mobileMoveRight) && this.gameLogic.showingMenu == false) { // some other code ... this.groupPlanet.rotation -= 0.003; } } NOTE: the fuzziness appears ONLY if game.stage.smoothed = false; Can anyone explain to me what is the issue and if there's a workaround? Thanks in advance!

I'm working on this in overall more than 2 years. I've had few different prototypes, had developed own simple engine. So I'm not feeling on abandoning this project now, when its near to be finished.
